Hey there everyone!
I'm Bruce, and
I'm 13 years old.
I have a sister who is 15 and medically fragile with autism.
My sister and I have always been close. I'm always by her side, doing my best to help her have fun and experience new things. Honestly, she's taught me so much about patience and learning to love others for who they are.
But it wasn't until I met another sibling at an inclusive soccer program that I realized how unique our experience was. We connected over the shared joys and challenges of having a sibling with special needs, and it sparked an idea. What if there were a way for other siblings like us to connect? A place where we could find support and understanding? And that's how Sibling to Sibling was bornβa community for those who "get it." Because sometimes, it really does take one to know one.
Hey there everyone!
I'm Daniel, and
I'm 18 years old.
My brother is 20 years old and diagnosed with Autism
Even though having a brother with special needs can be hard sometimes, he's still my favorite person. Our bond is strong, even when things get tough, and I want to support him in any way I can.
That's why I try to learn as much as I can about his disability. I read and look for information, so I can understand what he needs. Knowing more helps me be a better sibling and make sure he's happy and well.
It got us thinking, wouldn't it be great if siblings like us had a place to connect? A space to find people who truly understood? That's what sparked the idea for Sibling to Siblingβa community where shared experiences create a unique understanding. Because, often, only someone who's lived it can truly relate.
This website was created because we are not alone.

Oh, and hey, If you're a middle or high school student with a sibling who has special needs, we'd love for you to share your experiences. You can even earn SSL hours while you do! We're also running a Sibling to Sibling program from February 3rd to March 11th (in-person or virtual) where you can connect with other siblings who understand what you're going through, share tips, promote inclusion, and make a positive impact.
